Sunday Crash Injures Teen In Seneca County

10/1/18 – 7:15 A.M.

A one-car crash injured a Risingsun teenager Sunday morning. The State Highway Patrol reports the crash happened on State Route 635 north of Bascom around 2:40 a.m.

18-year-old Claytin Toller was driving north on Route 635 when he drove off the road and overturned in a ditch.

Bascom EMS took Toller to Fremont Memorial Hospital for treatment of possible injuries. Troopers cited him for operating a motor vehicle without reasonable control.

Seneca County Teen Killed In Weekend Crash

10/1/18 – 5:39 A.M.

The Hopewell-Loudon community is mourning the death of a recent graduate. A collision between a car and a dump truck Saturday took the life of 18-year-old Kenadee Siebenaller. Siebenaller was a 2018 graduate of the school and a member of the volleyball team at Tiffin University.

The State Highway Patrol says Siebenaller was driving south on Loudon Township Road 59, just north of County Road 18 near Fostoria, when she went off the right side of the road. She overcorrected and hit the dump truck head-on. The patrol says Siebenaller was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the dump truck and his passenger were not injured.

Hopewell-Loudon school officials say counselors will be at the school today. The school canceled the homecoming dance Saturday night. They’ll hold it sometime in November.

Pedestrian Hit By Pickup Truck In Findlay

10/1/18 – 5:28 A.M.

A pickup truck hit a man in downtown Findlay Sunday night. The Findlay Police Department says the accident happened at the intersection of South Main Street and East Sandusky Street around 7:43 p.m.

31-year-old Joshua Brooks of Findlay was trying to turn left onto South Main when he hit 42-year-old James Rhine of Findlay. Rhine was in the crosswalk at the time.

Hanco EMS took Rhine to Blanchard Valley Hospital for treatment of a leg injury. Officers cited Brooks for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Findlay Man Donating Kidney To Apartment Manager’s Mother

10/1/18 – 5:23 A.M.

A Findlay man is giving a kidney to a complete stranger. 40-year-old Anthony Noffsinger decided to see if he could help when his apartment manager, Dawn Wagner, posted on her Facebook page that her mother needed a kidney transplant. As it turned out, Anthony’s kidney was a 100 percent match.

The surgery is set for October 12 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. While Noffsinger might go home the next day, he’ll be off work for four to six weeks. The Joseph Skilken Organization owns the Hillcrest Apartments and has agreed to cover his rental expenses during that time. A GoFundMe account aims to cover Noffsinger’s other living expenses.

Bridge Near Vanlue Reopens Following Deck Replacement Project

10/1/18 – 4:57 A.M.

A lengthy road closure has ended in Hancock County. ODOT says State Route 330 over State Route 15 near Vanlue is open once again following a bridge deck replacement. You’ll still see occasional lane restrictions in that area as workers finish the project.

Elsewhere U.S. 68 in Arlington remains closed between Liberty Street and the Buck Run bridge. You’ll also continue to see lane reductions on State Route 568 between Bright Road in Findlay and Carey for resurfacing work. Crews also continue to restrict State Route 330 to one lane between North Street in Vanlue and State Route 568 for a resurfacing project.
