Columbus Holding 30th Anniversary Celebration Of Buster Knocking Out Tyson

(ONN) – A former heavyweight boxing champion who shocked the world three decades ago will be celebrated in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio

In February of 1990, James “Buster” Douglas overcame 42-to-one odds to knock out and beat Mike Tyson for the undisputed heavyweight title.

At the Ohio Statehouse, city leaders announced a 30th anniversary celebration planned for February 7th.

The celebration will be tied to a partnership with the Brightway Center, which will focus on workforce development, youth diversity and beating the odds.

Former heavyweight boxing champion Buster Douglas talks about what he hopes to teach kids.

“It’s all about motivation, staying focused, being positive and doing the right things.”

Buster coaches young boxers at a gym in Columbus.

Many Brave The Elements For Findlay Trick-Or-Treat

Youngsters in Findlay weren’t about to let some snow, sleet and 50 mile per hour winds keep them from their loot during Trick Or Treat on Thursday night.

Despite the ‘tricky’ weather a lot of kids could be seen up and down South Main Street going in search of their ‘treats’.

We caught up with Ron and his son Graham outside a home.

“I’ve done about 50 of these in my life and this is the first time I remember there being snow flurries,” Ron said.

But Ron said Graham, who was dressed as a skull trooper, was still having a great time despite the weather.

We spent a few minutes outside the home of Ray and Heidi on South Main (pictured above) and several different unicorns, football players and zombies came by for their treats.

“We’ve been seeing a lot of unicorns tonight, about four of five so far already,” Ray said.

A little further up South Main Melissa was handing out candy and while there weren’t as many trick or treaters as usual she said it was still a good turnout considering the weather.

Daylight Saving Time Ending This Weekend

(ONN) – A new poll finds that most people across the country want to stop the twice-a-year ritual of clock changes.

The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll comes as this weekend marks the end of daylight saving time.

It found that 7 in 10 Americans prefer not to switch back and forth.

4 in 10 would like to see their clocks stay on standard time year-round, while about 3 in 10 prefer to stay on daylight saving time, which results in more daylight in the evening.

About another 3 in 10 prefer the current back and forth between daylight saving time in the summer and standard time in the winter.

At least seven state legislatures have asked congress to allow for year-round daylight saving time.
